Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form goes to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that query. A message sent to us contains only the information included in the message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may create ordinary logs, including an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, resolve technical issues, measure general traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and outside search tools have their own privacy practices. Their policies govern anything submitted directly to them, including information entered for sponsored search results.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for the service. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. Disclosure occurs only when valid legal process requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. It does not create a user account, password, or visitor profile to protect.
Users Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
New Jersey’s Data Privacy Act, P.L. 2023, c.266, codified at N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq., gives consumers rights with exceptions for publicly available information. Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and technical logs, then removing information found there. Use the Contact page to ask. A public record held by a New Jersey state, county, or municipal custodian is outside our control and must be addressed to that custodian.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
